Turquoise Institute

We understand you

Pain Can Affect More Than Just Your Body.

Persistent pain rarely stays in one place. It follows you to work, keeps you up at night, and slowly narrows what you feel able to do. Many of our patients arrive after months — or years — of being told their pain is "normal" or hard to explain.

  • Work & focus
  • Sleep
  • Mobility
  • Concentration
  • Daily activities
  • Quality of life

Understanding the Cause Is the First Step Toward Better Care.

Turquoise Institute is built around careful evaluation and diagnosis. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we work to identify the underlying source of your pain and design an individualized plan — conservative, minimally invasive or regenerative — that fits your condition and your goals.

Services we provide

Focused Treatments for Pain, Migraine and Joint Conditions

Seven areas of focused expertise — each evaluated with the same careful, cause-first approach. Find what fits your symptoms and take the next step.

  • Patient describing migraine symptoms to a physician during a consultation

    Migraine Treatment

    Diagnosis, prevention & acute treatment

Migraine is a neurological disease, not "just a headache." Comprehensive diagnosis and a personalized prevention and acute treatment plan from a fellowship-trained headache specialist.

    • Throbbing, one-sided pain
    • Light and sound sensitivity
    • Nausea or visual aura
  • Physician marking forehead injection points for chronic migraine prevention

    Botox for Migraine

    Preventive injections for chronic migraine

Botulinum toxin injections used as a preventive treatment for chronic migraine — administered in-office by a physician fellowship-trained in Headache and Facial Pain Medicine.

    • 15 or more headache days a month
    • Preventive medications not working
    • Wanting fewer attacks
  • Physician explaining jaw joint anatomy to a patient with TMJ disorder

    TMJ Disorder

    Temporomandibular joint pain & dysfunction

Temporomandibular joint disorder affecting the jaw, ear and temple — often overlapping with headache and facial pain — evaluated as joint, muscle and nerve together.

    • Jaw pain, clicking or locking
    • Pain when chewing
    • Ear or temple aching
  • Clinician administering a botulinum toxin injection into neck muscles for cervical dystonia

Botulinum Toxin for Spasticity & Cervical Dystonia

    Botox, Xeomin & Dysport injections

Targeted botulinum toxin injections (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport) to reduce muscle overactivity in spasticity and cervical dystonia, improving comfort, posture and function.

    • Involuntary neck pulling or twisting
    • Tight, stiff muscles
    • Painful spasms or cramping
  • Gloved hand holding a tube of platelet-rich plasma prepared for injection

    PRP Injections

Regenerative treatment for joints & tendons

Platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood and injected into the painful joint or tendon as part of a regenerative treatment plan for appropriate patients.

    • Ongoing joint or tendon pain
    • Injuries slow to heal
    • Looking for non-surgical options
  • Physician examining an adult patient's shoulder for rotator cuff pain

    Shoulder & Rotator Cuff Pain

Rotator cuff tears, tendon & joint pain

Shoulder pain from rotator cuff tears, tendon injury, bursitis or joint wear — evaluated precisely, then treated with image-guided and regenerative options where appropriate.

    • Pain lifting or reaching overhead
    • Night pain lying on the shoulder
    • Weakness or limited motion
  • Doctor examining an older patient's knee affected by osteoarthritis

    Joint Pain & Osteoarthritis

Knee, hip, shoulder & hand osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis and other joint pain in the knee, hip, shoulder and hand — with image-guided injections and regenerative options aimed at comfort and mobility, not just prescriptions.

    • Stiff, aching joints in the morning
    • Pain with walking or stairs
    • Swelling or grinding

  1. 01

    Root-cause focused, not symptom-masking

We identify the underlying source of your pain so treatment can be targeted — rather than cycling through medications that only cover it up.

  2. 02

    Dual fellowship-trained specialist expertise

Dr. Tolebeyan is board-certified with fellowship training in both Interventional Pain Medicine and Headache & Facial Pain Medicine (Yale and Dartmouth), and formerly directed the Headache and Facial Pain Program at Tufts Medical Center.

  4. 04

    Evidence-based, minimally invasive procedures

Image- and ultrasound-guided options such as peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point and joint injections, and migraine procedures — often available the same day as your consultation.

    Regenerative options when appropriate

Orthobiologic therapies such as PRP may be considered to support your body's own healing for suitable spine, joint and tendon conditions.

What to expect

How Turquoise Institute Approaches Care

No referral is needed. Here is exactly what happens when you reach out.

  1. 01

    Understand

Your first visit is typically 60 minutes. We listen closely to your symptoms, how they affect your life, your medical history and what you've already tried — without rushing.

  2. 02

    Evaluate

A comprehensive examination and review of any imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray), with image-guided or ultrasound assessment when helpful, to pinpoint the likely source of your pain.

  3. 03

    Treat

A personalized plan built around your diagnosis and goals — conservative care, minimally invasive procedures, or regenerative options. In many cases treatment can begin the same day, with telemedicine available for follow-up.

Your goals, our focus

Get Back to the Things That Matter.

Treatment is never the end goal — your life is. Every plan we build starts with a simple question: what would you do more of if pain got in the way less?

  • Working comfortably through a full day
  • Sleeping through the night
  • Moving without bracing for pain
  • Being present with family and friends
  • Returning to the activities you've put on hold

Every patient and condition is different; outcomes vary and are discussed honestly during your evaluation.
